CASE STUDY

Rebuilding Storengy's Access Management System

The Problem

Storengy manages gas storage sites in France. Their internal access management system — used to control who can enter which sites — was slow, clunky, and frustrating for users. Page loads were sluggish, forms lagged, and the developer experience was poor enough that the team was losing velocity.

What I Did

  • Rebuilt core features of the access management system (Angular 14, REST APIs, AJAX), targeting the worst performance offenders.
  • Delivered a new UX/UI design using Angular Material for key features, focused on reducing navigation time.
  • Proposed and led a Developer Experience (DX) initiative to streamline internal processes and reduce friction in the development workflow.
  • Collaborated with a team of four fullstack developers.

The Result

  • 35% reduction in page load time.
  • 50% reduction in form latency.
  • 20% increase in user satisfaction due to reduced navigation time.
  • 15% improvement in team productivity — saving an average of 10 hours per week per developer.

Key Decision

The DX initiative wasn't in my brief — I proposed it after seeing how much time the team was losing to process friction. Improving developer velocity had a multiplier effect: every feature after that shipped faster.
